Stars & Staffs (March 2021)

Submission format: Short story

Title: Observe

Length: 870 words

Link: https://starsandstaffs.weebly.com/ss-shorts-observe.html

Fun fact: The layout of this story, which has certain words redacted, originally broke Stars & Staffs’ website, and the publishers had to change the code so that my story could be seen and read by everyone!

JUNO Magazine(December 2022)

Submission format: Non-fiction article

Article title: Selective Mutism

Article length: 2000 words

Link: https://junomagazine.com/products/issue-81-winter-2022

Fun fact: I originally wrote this article for an assessment in university, where we were tasked with interviewing someone and writing a “creative non-fiction article” featuring it. To escape the social anxiety of interviewing a stranger, I interviewed my mum about Selective Mutism, a condition I struggled with as a child. My lecturer suggested I send the finished article to some parenting magazines, as they believed the story I told to be unique, and JUNO ended up wanting it!

WI4C Leicester (March 2023)

Submission format: Short story

Story title: The Prize

Story length: 1500 words

Link: https://x.com/WI4CLeics/status/1652592524446277632

Fun fact: Months after I won this competition and had my story published, I ran into the people behind Write In For Charity Leicester at my coffee shop job! I think they ordered Lattes?

Broken Sleep Books(October 2023)

Submission format: Short story as part of an anthology (Happiness, Sadness, and All Things In-Between)

Story title: Broken Mirror

Story length: 1700 words

Link: https://www.brokensleepbooks.com/product-page/happiness-sadness-and-all-things-in-between

Fun fact: This anthology was created as part of another university assessment, and we even held a fake online book launch for it, where I volunteered to read out the opening to this story. This was my first experience with reading my work in a public setting.
